WELCOME TO CADENCE HORSE TRAINING!
IN PREPARATION FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF YOUR HORSE’S TRAINING PROGRAM, PLEASE FIND SOME USEFUL INFORMATION BELOW:
PADDOCKS - Paddocks are rested, rotated and harrowed on a regular basis.
WORMING - On arrival, ALL horses will be wormed with EQUEST Plus Tape (a moxidectin based wormer;) this may be supplied by owner or will be supplied by us at a fee of $25 per dose.
GRASS HAY - is provided ad lib or as necessary to keep bellies full.
HARD FEED - please provide any additional feed or supplements you would like to be fed alongside grass or hay.
As a guideline, we advocate keeping diets simple and balanced, a high fibre, low sugar ration is recommended with an appropriately balanced vitamin & mineral supplement or balancer pellet. Rations can be formulated or modified as required.
We take a holistic approach to training and believe that health from the inside out contributes to the best outcome.
We are also happy to accommodate any special dietary or related medical requirements and can feed 1-3 times per day.
Available feeds can be purchased from our local produce store and invoiced for your convenience.
RUGS - please provide rugs (if any) you would like us to use during your horse’s stay, we try our best to plan for weather changes, while keeping your horse comfortable and can remove/replace rugs up to twice daily.
GEAR - It is not necessary to supply any gear (halters/saddles/bridles etc.) but we are happy to use any gear that has been specifically fitted.
DENTAL, FARRIER & BODY WORK – To make your horses’ training run as smoothly as possible and to eliminate any possible cause of discomfort, we highly recommend having teeth checked prior to or at the beginning of their training program, particularly if your horse has any behavioural issues or is to be newly started.
During training, your horse will most likely undergo significant physical changes through muscle development. This may cause soreness or discomfort, particularly if your horse has been out of work, lacks balance, condition or correct muscle tone or has experienced previous injury – it can be beneficial to have horses checked midway through their program to relieve tight muscles and identify stresses or strains through myotherapy, osteotherapy and laser acupuncture, short rest periods may/can also be incorporated.
We have access to some amazing resources for dental, body and farrier work whom we trust explicitly with our client horses and are happy to arrange and schedule any work needing to be carried out during your horses’ stay.
BOOKING - To secure a place on our onsite training schedule, a non-refundable booking deposit of $200 must be paid within 7 days of receipt of booking invoice. If unpaid after 7 days, preferred dates may no longer be available. Deposits are credited to the first week of training.
PAPERWORK - Please take some time to read through our training agreement, waiver and medical disclaimer. Paperwork must be completed and signed on arrival or sent along with your horse – these are required to maintain insurance coverage.
PICK UP & DROP OFF - Arrivals or departures may be scheduled during our regular business hours (see below); if you are unable to accommodate these days and times we are able to prepare a secure yard, please be aware that we may not be on hand to assist with loading/unloading outside of hours.
